Ozone made a huge splash at Siggraph 2024, capturing the attention of everyone on the show floor and at this year’s Real-Time Live (RTL) event. Our very own Rich Hurrey co-hosted RTL alongside Char, a digital puppet brought to life by puppeteer Drew Massey using the Henson Digital Puppetry System. Together with Emily Hsu, this year’s RTL chair, they kept the energy high and the audience engaged with cutting-edge real-time technology.
After the excitement of RTL, the Ozone team, along with the full Anim Revolution crew (including CG Lumberjack, Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, IEL, Jali, House of Moves, Lenovo, AMD, and Xencelabs), stormed the exhibit floor. The team literally stopped visitors in their tracks with live demos led by IEL, HOM, Jali, and Henson, all powered by Ozone characters. The buzz around our booth was undeniable as guests witnessed production-quality rigs, animation, motion capture, and voice translation—all running seamlessly inside Unreal Engine. The collaborative pipeline, from advanced hardware solutions to state-of-the-art software tools, was on full display for everyone to see.Â
This year’s event was so fantastic, we just had to share some of our favorite highlights:
- The Vicon connection with IEL and HOM caused a traffic jam on the show floor as an actor controlled an Ozone-powered character with Jali’s language translation through Unreal Engine, all happening in real-time.
- The Henson puppet rig, operated by Drew Massey as Char, stole the show, captivating the crowd with real-time interaction.
- CG Lumberjack impressed with real-world pipeline solutions that can be easily implemented.
- Tablets galore! Visitors couldn’t get enough of the Xencelabs tablets, which were instrumental in powering our productive workflows.
- AMD and Lenovo provided the horsepower behind all our booth machines, enabling us to create those stunning real-time experiences.
- And of course, Rich, Char, and Drew jumping into the Real-Time Live hosting with Emily Hsu was an unforgettable moment.
It was an incredible event, and we’re already looking forward to bringing the AnimRevolution to future events and Siggraph 2025!Â
